UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017

Where there’s muck there’s brass… and the UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017 highlighted the tremendous opportunities within this growing sector.
Directors Vicki Shaw and Jeff Rice of Dr Vicki Shaw & Associates attended this two-day event at Birmingham NEC on 5th – 6th July 2017 hosted by the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA) in partnership with the World Biogas Association (WBA).
There were plenty of presentations, workshops and exhibits at the UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017 including:
– Insights into the latest policies and Government position on biogas,
– Showing how anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas initiatives tie in with the delivery of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals,
– Launch of ADBA’s Best Practice Scheme Pilot,
– AD equipment for small-scale schemes through to large scale plants,
– Exploring ways of tackling waste management including Food Strategies, and reducing and recycling food waste,
– Latest research on AD,
– Biogas transport applications,
– Sharing best practice e.g. optimising the daily operation of AD plants, digestate quality, health and safety, and the
– Opportunity to network.
We found it really inspiring to see, what to us, was a large and varied amount of industry-related technology, people performing various roles in the industry, and the show-casing of AD and biogas applications from the UK and around the world.
It was a great opportunity to network and we look forward to exploring our new connections within the UK’s anaerobic digestion and biogas sector.
See you next year.
